Shelf. Packaging design company in Kerala for food & FMCG brands

Marketlube is a packaging design company in Calicut, Kerala, designing FMCG packs, labels, pouches, boxes and print collateral for food, spice, tea, beauty and D2C brands across India and the GCC. Structure, graphics, bilingual Arabic/English layouts and print-ready artwork are handled by one team.

On a crowded shelf you get about three seconds.

If a shopper can't tell what you are, why you're better and which variant they're holding from two metres away, the brand beside you gets the sale, however good your product is.

We design packaging for how it's actually bought: shelf blocking, a hierarchy that reads at distance, flavour and variant systems that scale across a range, and label design that fits FSSAI declarations without wrecking the front panel. Then we sweat the unglamorous part (dielines, bleeds, colour separations and printer proofs) so what comes off the press matches the screen.

Kerala food, spice and tea brands increasingly sell into Dubai and the wider Gulf, and GCC shelves have their own rules: bilingual Arabic/English packs, different nutrition panels and importer details. We design for both markets from the start, along with the catalogues, brochures and point-of-sale material that go with a launch.

Our work for packaging design, newest first

  • Pack & label design

Front-of-pack hierarchy, variant systems and labels that carry FSSAI declarations cleanly.

  • FMCG range architecture

One system across SKUs, sizes and sub-brands, so the whole range blocks together on shelf.

  • Bilingual Arabic/English packs

GCC-ready layouts with Arabic set properly, right to left and with matched weights.

  • Structure & dielines

Boxes, pouches, jars, sleeves and mailers, with dielines built to your converter's specs.

  • 3D renders & mock-ups

Photoreal renders for marketplace listings, pitch decks and pre-launch ads before stock is printed.

  • Print & catalogues

Catalogues, brochures, POS and shelf talkers, pre-press checked and proofed with your printer.

Four steps. No surprises.

Every stage has an owner, a deliverable and a sign-off, all agreed with you before it starts.

  1. Shelf audit

We study your category on real shelves and marketplaces to see what the leaders do and where the gap is.

  2. Concepts

Two or three design directions on the hero SKU, shown as renders in shelf context.

  3. Range rollout

The chosen route extended across every SKU, size and language version.

  4. Pre-press

Dielines, colour, barcodes and legal text checked; proofs approved with your printer before the run.

Work that proves it.

How much does packaging design cost?

Label or pack design for a single SKU typically starts around ₹20,000–₹40,000. A full range system with structure, variants and renders usually lands between ₹75,000 and ₹3 lakh. Bilingual GCC packs typically start from AED 2,500 per SKU.

Do you design bilingual Arabic/English packaging for the GCC?

Yes. GCC labelling standards require Arabic on food and many consumer products, so we design both languages into the layout from day one instead of squeezing Arabic in later. Final regulatory text comes from your importer or compliance consultant; we set it correctly.

Can you handle FMCG packaging for a whole product range?

Yes. Range architecture is where a lot of FMCG packaging in India goes wrong, so we build one system for colour coding, variant naming and hierarchy. The fifteenth SKU should look as intentional as the first.

Do you work with our printer?

Yes. We build dielines from your converter's specs, prepare separations and barcodes, and check proofs with the printer before the run. If you don't have a printer yet, we can suggest options in Kerala for you to quote.

How long does packaging design take?

A single label can be print-ready in two to three weeks. A full range with structure and bilingual versions typically takes three to five weeks, plus printer proofing time.

Do you also design catalogues and print collateral?

Yes. We design product catalogues, brochures, company profiles, shelf talkers and trade-show material in the same system as the packs, so a launch looks like one brand.
