Websites for Kuwait, built to take KNET. Website development company for Kuwait businesses

Marketlube designs and builds websites for Kuwait businesses from Calicut, Kerala, in Kuwait's working hours, over WhatsApp and video calls. We have no office in Kuwait. What we bring is the Kuwait detail, built in from the first call: KNET checkout, Apple Pay through KNET, totals to three decimals, English and Arabic layouts, and the policy pages a KNET bank agreement and the new commerce law ask for.

What does a Kuwait website need that a template misses?

A website for Kuwait has a few parts a generic template does not cover. KNET, the country's own card network, opens on its own hosted page and charges only in dinars. Apple Pay in Kuwait runs through KNET too. The dinar has three decimals, not two, so a cart that rounds like a dirham or dollar store gets totals wrong. And with Instagram's ad reach in Kuwait at about 3.0 million and Snapchat's at about 2.4 million (DataReportal, late 2025), a business that sells through social media needs a site that holds its prices, policies and checkout in one place.

The rules are moving as well. Amiri Decree-Law No. 10 of 2026 brings online selling under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the consumer law asks for product information in Arabic, and CITRA's data rules can reach any website that collects personal details. We build to what each of these asks of a website, and list our sources below with the date we read them. It is planning help for your build, not legal advice.

We are a web team in Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala, with no office, licence or staff in Kuwait. We build for Kuwait businesses remotely, in Kuwait's working hours, over WhatsApp and video calls, and the .com.kw domain, the gateway account, the hosting and the code are all in your name, not ours.

What a Kuwait business website has to handle.

  • A gateway on the Central Bank's register

The Central Bank of Kuwait keeps a register of licensed payment companies. KNET is registered as an e-payment systems operator, and MyFatoorah, Tap Payments, Payzah and Casheer were added as e-payment service providers in April 2024. We integrate a registered gateway or your own bank's, never a workaround that takes money outside that system.

  • KNET opens on its own page

KNET accepts dinars only, and sending the shopper to KNET's hosted payment page to enter card details is mandatory. So a KNET checkout is a redirect with return pages and payment notifications, not a card form inside your site. We build and test the success, failure and cancel paths so no order is lost on the way back.

  • Apple Pay goes through KNET

To take Apple Pay in Kuwait, the payment has to use the KNET network: the Apple Pay processing certificate is added in the KNET portal with credentials from your acquiring bank. On the web, each domain that shows the Apple Pay button must also be verified, as MyFatoorah's docs require. We set up both and test the button on iPhones before launch.

  • The pages your bank asks for

Commercial Bank of Kuwait's 2026 KNET hosted gateway agreement asks that the merchant website state its contact details clearly, give full delivery details, and publish its returns and refund policy where they apply. Its Apple Pay annex asks for HTTPS with TLS 1.2 and Apple Pay shown with equal prominence to the other ways to pay. Your bank's terms may differ, so we read them with you before the build.

  • Kuwait's digital commerce law

Amiri Decree-Law No. 10 of 2026 puts digital commerce under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and no one may operate in digital commerce without being registered in its records. Stores must show clear prices, specifications and contact details; shoppers may withdraw within 14 days of receiving a product in its original condition, except in set cases; and only payment services licensed by the Central Bank of Kuwait may be used. It enters into force six months after its publication in the official gazette, and its executive regulations were not confirmed when we checked, so we build the price, contact and returns pages in from day one rather than wait for it.

  • Product information in Arabic

Kuwait's Consumer Protection Law No. 39 of 2014 and its 2015 executive regulation ask suppliers to give clear product information in Arabic, state prices clearly and issue accurate receipts, and the regulation brings selling over the internet under the law. So a shop needs Arabic product pages, not only an Arabic menu. We build right-to-left layouts that mirror properly, using your Arabic copy or a native reviewer you choose.

  • Data rules without a single law

Kuwait has no general personal data protection law. The rules sit in the Electronic Transactions Law (No. 20 of 2014), the Cybercrime Law (No. 63 of 2015) and CITRA's Decision No. 26 of 2024, whose wide definition of a service provider can include anyone running a website or app that processes personal data. Breaches go to CITRA and the people affected within 24 hours unless effective protections were in place, and transfers abroad are recorded with the country names. We build consent into forms, write a clear privacy notice and document where the data is stored.

  • A .com.kw domain in your name

CITRA runs the .kw domains: .com.kw is for registered commercial entities, .org.kw for locally registered non-profits and .edu.kw for registered schools and colleges. Registration goes through CITRA's accredited registrars (Solutions by STC, FastTelco, Beonline, KEMS and MADA) and is for residents and entities registered in Kuwait. So you register the domain, and we connect it to the site.

  • Dinars to three decimals

The Kuwaiti dinar (KWD) has three minor units: one dinar is 1,000 fils, so twelve and a half dinars is written 12.500. Prices, carts, invoices and gateway amounts must all carry three decimals, where most themes and plugins assume two and round without telling you. We set the store's currency, rounding and gateway amounts in fils and check the totals line by line.

Across Kuwait, served remotely from Calicut.

Kuwait City

The Capital Governorate holds most of Kuwait's financial and business centres, including the stock exchange, in districts such as Sharq, Mirqab, Jibla, Dasman and Shuwaikh. A firm here needs a bilingual company site that loads fast on a phone and states its registration and contact details plainly, so a bank, partner or buyer can check who it is dealing with. We build those in English and Arabic from the same content, so the two never drift apart.

Hawalli and Salmiya

Hawalli Governorate (also spelt Hawally) is dense and busy, and Salmiya is its most populous area. Many of Kuwait's own web agencies list addresses here; we are not one of them, and we work for Hawalli and Salmiya businesses remotely. What we suit is a shop or service business that already sells through Instagram or Snapchat and wants a site that holds its prices, policies and KNET checkout in one place.

Farwaniya

Farwaniya is the most populous of Kuwait's six governorates and holds Kuwait International Airport, with areas such as Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Khaitan and Ardiya. A business delivering here needs booking and checkout forms built around area, block, street and building, and +965 numbers that a driver can call or message. A car rental or travel business serving the airport needs booking that works on a phone in the arrivals hall.

Kuwait concept builds, labelled as such.

Concept builds are working homepages we designed and built for fictional brands. For Kuwait: Sanbouk, a car rental website for Kuwait City and Shadd Athletic Club, a gym website for Salmiya. None of them is a client, and every page of every demo says so. See every concept build.

Kuwait has no VAT in force today, so none is added; the figures are before any tax that applies if that changes. Your written quote lists what the project includes, such as the KNET and card gateway it needs, Arabic pages, and calls in Kuwait's working hours.

All our prices, in AED, QAR, SAR and INR

Five steps. No surprises.

Every stage has an owner, a deliverable and a sign-off, all agreed with you before it starts.

Book a discovery call
  1. A first call in Kuwait hours

We start on WhatsApp or a video call, Monday to Thursday between 7am and 4pm Kuwait time. You tell us what the site must do and who it is for; we come back with a written scope, a fixed quote and the list of accounts the site will need.

  2. Accounts in your name

You register the .com.kw domain through an accredited registrar and open the KNET or gateway merchant account under your commercial registration. We give you the exact technical details each one asks for, and nothing is held in our name.

  3. Design in English and Arabic

We design both languages together, with the Arabic layout mirrored right to left from the start rather than flipped at the end. Arabic copy comes from you or a native reviewer you choose, and you approve every page on your own phone.

  4. Build and test

We build the site, then test the KNET redirect and return pages, Apple Pay domain verification, three-decimal totals, +965 number checks and block-based address fields on real phones before you see a launch date.

  5. Launch and hand over

We launch, hand over the code, hosting and admin logins, and show your team how to edit pages. The care plan then covers updates, backups and fixes, handled in the hours our week and yours overlap.

Why work with us from Kuwait.

  • Straight about where we are

We are a web team in Calicut, Kerala, with no office, licence or staff in Kuwait, and we will not pretend otherwise. We build for Kuwait businesses remotely, in your working hours, over WhatsApp and video calls, in English or Malayalam.

  • Kuwait's details, planned in

KNET's hosted page, Apple Pay through KNET, totals in fils, Arabic product pages and the policy pages a bank asks for are in the plan from the first call, not fixes after launch.

  • Everything in your name

Your domain, gateway account, hosting and code belong to you from day one. At hand over you have every login, and no part of the site depends on us to keep running.

  • Prices first, and Arabic done properly

Our starting prices are published in dinars, and the written quote lists every item before work begins. Our Arabic client work so far is design, so for Arabic we build from your copy or a native reviewer's, and never pass machine translation off as finished copy.

Does an online store in Kuwait need KNET?

KNET is Kuwait's domestic card network, registered with the Central Bank of Kuwait as an e-payment systems operator, and gateways such as Tap and PayTabs offer it beside international cards. KNET payments open on KNET's own hosted page and are charged in dinars, so the checkout is built around that redirect. PayTabs says KNET does not support recurring payments, so a subscription business needs a card option as well.

Is there VAT on online sales in Kuwait?

Not today. PwC's tax summary, reviewed in July 2026, says VAT is not in force in Kuwait and the government is still preparing a draft law. Kuwait and Qatar are the two GCC states without VAT. We still build carts so a tax line can be switched on later without a rebuild.

What does Kuwait's 2026 digital commerce law mean for my website?

Al Rai reports that Decree-Law No. 10 of 2026 requires online sellers to be registered with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and to disclose their trade name, commercial register details and contact methods, with clear prices, payment methods and a return policy. It adds that advertising through social media or selling apps needs a ministry licence, and that courts can fine violators and close a store. Kuwait Times reports that it enters into force six months after its publication in the official gazette; its executive regulations were not confirmed when we checked, so plan for it now and confirm the details with your lawyer.

Can I register a .com.kw domain, and who should own it?

.com.kw needs a valid commercial licence from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and is limited to Kuwaiti citizens, residents, companies and organisations, registered through CITRA's accredited registrars. A foreign applicant whose name matches a trademark must own that mark in Kuwait or prove the right to use it. Either way the domain should be registered in your company's name, which is how we set it up.

Does my website need to be in Arabic?

Arabic is Kuwait's official language under Article 3 of the Constitution, and the consumer law asks for clear product information in Arabic, so a shop needs Arabic product pages. A company site can lead in English, but an Arabic version widens who can read it. We build right-to-left layouts with your Arabic copy or a native Arabic reviewer, and give each Arabic page its own address, so search engines can show it to Arabic readers.

What should a checkout form ask for in Kuwait?

Kuwait numbers are +965 followed by eight digits, with no area codes; mobiles start with 5, 6, 9 or 41 and landlines with 2. Addresses are written by area, block, street and building, so delivery forms need those fields rather than Western address lines. WhatsApp links need the number in full international form to open on the shopper's phone.

How do you work with a Kuwait business from Calicut?

Kuwait is UTC+3 and Calicut UTC+5:30, so Kuwait is 2 hours 30 minutes behind all year. Our hours, Monday to Saturday 9:30am to 6:30pm in Calicut, are 7am to 4pm in Kuwait, so Monday to Thursday share most of Kuwait's working day; a Sunday message is answered on Monday morning. We work over WhatsApp and video calls, with written updates you can forward to your team.
