FMCG. FMCG branding agency in Kerala for food brands

Marketlube is an FMCG branding agency in Kerala, based in Calicut, for food, snack and household brands selling across India and into the GCC. We design packaging that wins the shelf, as for Proteinuts' peanut butter tubs, shoot the films that sell the product on the scroll and plan launch and retail campaigns.

The problem

Where FMCG & food marketing leaks.

Four problems we plan around before a single rupee or dirham goes into media.

  • Three seconds on the shelf

In a crowded aisle, or a quick-commerce grid of thumbnails, a pack has seconds to say what it is, why it's better and what it costs. Most regional brands design for the pack in hand, not the pack at two metres or at 200 pixels.

  • Distribution before demand

Distributors and supermarket buyers want proof of pull before they give you shelf space, but shoppers can't pull what they can't find. A launch has to build consumer demand and trade confidence at the same time.

  • Kerala flavour, Gulf rules

The Malayali and wider Indian diaspora in the GCC is a natural export market, but packs need Arabic labelling to GSO standards, import registration and a price that survives freight and retailer margins.

  • Claims that get you pulled

Nutrition and health claims such as 'high protein', 'no preservatives' and 'sugar free' are regulated in India and the GCC. A claim the formulation can't back up means a rejected ad, a complaint or a costly reprint.

The fix

What we do about it.

Each fix maps to a service we run in-house in Calicut for FMCG & food brands in Kerala, across India and in the GCC.

  • Packaging Design

    Packaging that wins the aisle

Structure, labels and range architecture tested at shelf distance and thumbnail size, with FSSAI and GSO panels laid out from your regulatory data.

  • Branding

A brand people ask for by name

Naming, identity and a flavour or variant system that stays recognisable from the pickle jar to the delivery truck.

  • Video Production

    Product films and recipe reels

Slow-motion product films, recipe reels and 3D pack renders that put appetite appeal in the first second a shopper sees.

  • Performance Marketing

    Marketplace and quick-commerce ads

Sponsored listings on Amazon and quick-commerce apps, plus Meta and Google campaigns that send shoppers to the nearest store or the app they already use.

  • Social Media Marketing

    Sampling and creator launches

Creator seeding, sampling drives and festive recipe content that build word of mouth in the cities where distribution goes live first.

  • E-commerce Development

A D2C store for the hero range

A lean online store for hero SKUs, gift boxes and subscriptions. It's the place to launch new flavours and learn what sells before retail.

The playbook

Four steps. No guesswork.

How a FMCG & food engagement runs, from the first brief to revenue you can trace back to a campaign.

  • Step 1

    Audit the shelf

Competitor packs, price points and real shelf conditions in Kerala stores, quick-commerce apps and GCC hypermarkets.

  • Step 2

    Design the range

Brand, pack system and label panels for every SKU and market, delivered as print-ready files and 3D renders.

  • Step 3

    Launch city by city

Sampling, creators and geo-targeted ads that follow the distribution roll-out, so demand arrives where the stock is.

  • Step 4

    Win the season

Onam kits, Ramadan and Eid gifting, Diwali boxes and DSF promotions planned with trade partners months ahead.

FAQ

FMCG & food marketing, answered.

Can you design packs for export to the GCC?

Yes. Food packs sold in GCC countries need Arabic labelling under GSO standards, plus importer details, and many products need registering in markets such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Most brands print Arabic and English side by side. We design bilingual panels and layouts from your regulatory data; your importer or food-safety consultant signs off compliance before print.

What do FSSAI rules mean for our packs and ads?

Packs sold in India must carry the FSSAI logo and licence number, ingredients, nutrition information, allergen declarations and the veg or non-veg mark under the Labelling and Display Regulations, 2020. Claims such as 'high protein' or 'no added sugar' must meet the conditions in FSSAI's Advertising and Claims Regulations, 2018, so we check every pack and ad claim against the formulation before it runs.

Can you help us get into supermarkets and quick commerce?

We don't broker listings, but we help you win them: sell sheets, trade presentations, shelf-ready packaging and launch plans that show a buyer the demand you'll create. Once you're listed, we run sponsored-listing and local campaigns that move stock off the shelf.

When are the big seasons for food brands?

In Kerala, Onam leads with sadya staples, payasam mixes, chips and gift hampers, followed by Vishu, Christmas and Ramzan. In the GCC, Ramadan and Eid are the peak for dates, snacks and cooking staples, with Diwali gifting for Indian expats and DSF promotions in Dubai. We plan packs and campaigns 8–12 weeks ahead.

Do you work with new brands or only established ones?

Both. For Proteinuts, a peanut butter brand, we designed the logotype, tub label system, product renders, a product film and its online store. New brands usually start with brand and packaging for two or three hero SKUs, then scale content and media as distribution grows.
