Websites for Bahrain, ready for BenefitPay. Website development company for Bahrain businesses
Marketlube designs and builds websites for Bahrain businesses from Calicut, Kerala, working in Bahrain's hours over WhatsApp and video calls, with no office in Bahrain. Every build starts from the Bahrain detail: BenefitPay and Benefit debit checkout, VAT-inclusive prices in three-decimal dinars, your CR number on every page, English and Arabic layouts, and enquiry forms written around the PDPL.

What should a Bahrain website get right?
A website for Bahrain has to work on a phone first and take the payments people there use. In September 2026, 66% of Bahrain's web traffic came from mobiles, and iOS ran on 53% of those phones (StatCounter). BenefitPay and Benefit debit take dinars only and charge at once, Apple Pay is backed by 18 Bahrain banks and card issuers, and the dinar runs to three decimals (BHD 12.500), so a theme set up for two-decimal currencies can round totals wrongly.
Then there are the rules a page has to show. Bahrain's VAT law asks for prices that include VAT, the national portal asks every e-store to display its Commercial Registration number, the electronic transactions law lets a buyer withdraw an input error they had no chance to correct, and the Personal Data Protection Law shapes what an enquiry or newsletter form must say. Each one becomes a line in your scope, and the law or portal page behind it is listed at the foot of this page. It is planning help for your build, not legal or tax advice; confirm your own position with your lawyer or accountant.
Marketlube works from HiLITE Business Park in Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala; nothing of ours is in Bahrain, not an office, a licence or a member of staff. Calls and reviews run over WhatsApp and video in the hours Manama and Calicut share. Indians are Bahrain's largest expatriate community, at about 350,000 people, and we take a brief in Malayalam as readily as in English. The Arabic side of the site comes from your copy or a native reviewer you choose, never from machine translation passed off as finished.
What a Bahrain business website has to handle.
BenefitPay and Benefit debit charge at once
In Tap's developer docs, BenefitPay accepts dinars only and supports neither authorise-only payments nor saved cards. Benefit debit is dinars only too, supports no authorisation transactions, and sends the shopper to Benefit's page to confirm with a PIN. So the checkout captures payment the moment the order is placed, and a business that needs deposits on hold or repeat billing keeps a card option beside them. We build and test the return pages so an order is never lost after the PIN screen.

Your gateway, opened on your CR
To open a CrediMax online gateway, a business supplies signed gateway agreements, a valid website domain, a valid CR copy, CPR copies (with passport and residence permit copies for expatriates), its Articles of Association and a board resolution. So the gateway account is opened under your own Commercial Registration, and the domain has to exist before you apply. We integrate and test the gateway you open, as CrediMax's hosted checkout or a form embedded in your page, and never handle the money.

Apple Pay for an iPhone-heavy market
Apple lists 18 Bahrain banks and card issuers for Apple Pay, among them National Bank of Bahrain, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, Credimax, Bahrain Islamic Bank and ILA Bank. With iOS on about 53% of Bahrain's mobiles in September 2026 (StatCounter), Apple Pay through your gateway is often the shortest way to pay. We switch it on where your gateway supports it and test the whole checkout in Safari on iPhones.

Prices that already include 10% VAT
Bahrain's standard VAT rate has been 10% since 1 January 2022, and Article 3 of the VAT law says the price displayed in the local market must include the VAT due. A registered business also states its tax registration number on each tax invoice (Article 70). We set the shop to show VAT-inclusive prices in three-decimal dinars and put your VAT number on the invoices and receipts it sends.

The CR number and the policy pages
Bahrain's national portal says every e-store operating in Bahrain must give its business contact details, display its Commercial Registration number, hold the licences it needs before selling online, and provide exchange and return, terms of use and data protection policies. Using an untrue CR number in a publication is an offence under the Commercial Register law (Legislative Decree No. 27 of 2015, Article 27). We put the CR number and contact details in the footer of every page and build the policy pages in from the start.

A review step before the order goes in
Legislative Decree No. 54 of 2018 gives electronic contracts legal effect, including those formed through automated systems. But where an automated system gave a person no chance to correct an input error, they may withdraw that part (Article 14(b)). So every checkout and booking form we build ends with a summary the buyer can check and edit before they confirm.

Forms that respect the PDPL
Law No. 30 of 2018 on Personal Data Protection has been in force since 1 August 2019. If someone asks, a business must stop using their data for direct marketing within 10 working days (Article 20), and a controller notifies the Authority before automated processing, subject to exemptions (Article 14). Listed offences carry fines of BD 1,000 to BD 20,000 (Article 58). We write the notice into each form, keep marketing opt-ins separate and make the opt-out work.

Where the data goes, and a breach plan
Article 12 of the PDPL limits sending personal data outside Bahrain to countries the Authority lists as adequately protective, or to cases such as the Authority's permission, the person's consent or performing a contract. DLA Piper notes that a breach affecting people's rights is reported to the Authority within 72 hours of its discovery, and that a business must use processors that give sufficient technical and organisational guarantees. We document where your site's data is stored and who can reach it, so you can answer both questions.

A .bh or .com.bh domain in your name
The TRA runs .bh and the Arabic .البحرين through register.bh, which says anyone may register a second-level .bh name. Third-level extensions are limited to set users, such as .com.bh for businesses or individuals and .edu.bh for educational institutions, and every name is registered through one of register.bh's retailers. You register the domain in your company's name, and we connect it to the site.

Manama, Muharraq and Riffa want different sites.
Manama
The capital is a Gulf financial hub and a centre of Islamic banking, with most financial services in the Central Business District and the Diplomatic Area, and Seef known for its malls and retail. Most of Bahrain's own web agencies are here too, so if you want a team across the table, you have that choice; we work from Calicut and say so. For a finance, trading or professional services firm we build a bilingual company site with the CR number in the footer and enquiry forms that carry a proper PDPL notice.
Muharraq
Bahrain's capital until 1932, Muharraq sits beside Bahrain International Airport, is home to Gulf Air's headquarters and is part of the UNESCO-listed Pearling Path. Its heritage guesthouses, cafes and souq shops get found through Instagram and maps, so their sites need Arabic-first pages, opening hours that show the Friday and Saturday times clearly, map directions and a WhatsApp button. Travel and logistics firms working the airport corridor need quote and tracking pages that work on a phone.
Riffa
Bahrain's second-largest city by area, in the Southern Governorate and split into East, West and North Riffa, Riffa is largely residential, which makes it a city of family-facing businesses: clinics, schools and tutoring centres, restaurants and home services. Two in three Bahrain web visits come from a phone, so we build fast mobile pages, booking calendars that know the Friday and Saturday weekend, and enquiries that land straight in WhatsApp, with Arabic first where most of your customers read it.
Concept builds for Manama, for fictional brands.
Concept builds are working homepages we designed and built for fictional brands. For Bahrain: Fasht Institute, a training institute website for Manama and Dayyin Jewellers, a jewellery website for Manama. None of them is a client, and every page of every demo says so. See every concept build.

The figures are before VAT, where it applies; Bahrain's standard rate is 10%. Your written quote lists what the project includes, such as the BenefitPay, Benefit debit or card gateway it needs, the Arabic pages and who writes them, and meetings in Bahrain's working hours.
Five steps. No surprises.
Every stage has an owner, a deliverable and a sign-off, all agreed with you before it starts.
Book a discovery callA WhatsApp or video call, Monday to Thursday
Monday to Thursday are working days in both Manama and Calicut, so the first call sits between 7am and 4pm Bahrain time. You tell us what the site must sell or book and who reads it in which language; then you get a written scope, a fixed quote and the list of accounts the build needs.
Domain first, then the gateway
CrediMax asks for a valid website domain with your CR and CPR copies, so you register the .bh or .com.bh name in your company's name first and we put a holding page on it. Then you apply for the gateway under your own CR, and we send the technical details it asks for. Nothing is held in our name.
English and Arabic, laid out together
We design both languages side by side, with the Arabic pages mirrored right to left from the first layout. Your writer or a native reviewer supplies the Arabic, and you check each page on your own phone through a shared preview link before anything is built.
A checkout tested the Bahrain way
We run test orders through BenefitPay and the Benefit PIN page and check the return to your site, Apple Pay in Safari on iPhone, totals in three-decimal dinars with VAT inside, the review step before confirmation, the CR number in the footer and the notice on every form.
Go live, then the care plan
We launch on your domain, hand over the code, hosting and admin logins, and record a short walkthrough of editing pages for your team. After that the care plan covers updates, backups and fixes, which we schedule on the days our weeks share.
What you get from a Calicut team.
Where we are, in the first paragraph
We are a web team in Calicut, Kerala, with no office, licence or staff in Bahrain, and this page says so in its opening lines rather than in the footer. We build for Bahrain businesses from Calicut, in your working hours, over WhatsApp and video calls.
A Bahrain checklist, with its sources
VAT-inclusive prices, the CR number and policy pages, a review step before checkout and PDPL notices on forms go into the scope at the first call. Each point is tied to the law or portal page it comes from, listed below with the day we read it.
Accounts on your CR, code in your hands
The gateway is opened on your Commercial Registration, the domain is in your company's name, and settlement goes straight to you. At hand over you get the code, hosting and every login, so the site keeps running without us.
Dinar figures, careful Arabic
The figures above are in Bahraini dinars, before VAT at 10% where it applies, and each item is priced in the written quote before any work starts. Our Arabic client work so far is design, so the Arabic comes from your copy or a native reviewer's; a machine-translated page reads badly to the customers it is meant for.

Which payment methods should a Bahrain online store offer?
Plan around BenefitPay: TradeArabia reports about 246 million BenefitPay transfer transactions worth BD 5.4 billion in the first half of 2026. BENEFIT's own gateway takes locally issued debit cards in dinars, so a store that also wants Visa and Mastercard uses a gateway that offers both, such as Tap (BenefitPay, Benefit, Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay) or CrediMax (Benefit and international cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay). Which one suits you depends on your bank and what you sell.
Do prices on a Bahrain website have to include VAT?
Yes, for prices shown in the local market: Article 3 of the VAT law says the displayed price must include the VAT due, and the standard rate has been 10% since 1 January 2022. Registration is mandatory above BHD 37,500 of annual taxable revenue and voluntary from BHD 18,750 (PwC, reviewed July 2026). PwC also notes that a Saudi-style e-invoicing framework is expected in Bahrain but gives no date, so none applies yet; confirm your own position with your accountant.
What does Bahrain's data protection law mean for my contact forms?
Law No. 30 of 2018 has applied since 1 August 2019. DLA Piper notes that people should be told at collection whether their data will be used for direct marketing, and Article 20 gives a business 10 working days to stop once someone asks. DLA Piper also says Bahrain has no specific online privacy regulation, so the general law covers what your forms and cookies collect. Confirm the details for your business with your lawyer.
Can a web team outside Bahrain work with my customers' data?
The PDPL lets personal data leave Bahrain only to countries the Authority lists as adequately protective, or with the Authority's permission, the person's consent or a listed necessity such as performing a contract. A business must also choose processors that give sufficient technical and organisational guarantees, and check that they apply them. In-country hosting does exist, for example AWS's opt-in Middle East (Bahrain) Region with three Availability Zones, so if you want the data kept in Bahrain, raise it at the first call and the quote will name where the site is hosted.
Should I register .bh or .com.bh?
register.bh says anyone, anywhere, may register a second-level .bh name, while .com.bh is a third-level extension limited to businesses or individuals and .edu.bh to educational institutions. Every name goes through one of register.bh's retailers, and an Arabic .البحرين domain is also run by the TRA. Whichever you choose, register it in your company's name so it stays yours.
Does my website need to be in Arabic?
Arabic is Bahrain's official language under Article 2 of the Constitution, but we found no rule that requires a private business website to be in Arabic. With 53.4% of residents non-Bahraini at the 2024 census, many sites lead in English and add Arabic for Bahraini customers. We build right-to-left layouts from your Arabic copy or a native reviewer's, and publish the Arabic pages only once that review is done.
Which days and hours suit calls with Manama?
Bahrain stays on UTC+3 all year, 2 hours 30 minutes behind Calicut, so our 9:30am to 6:30pm day runs from 7am to 4pm in Manama. Monday to Thursday are working days for both of us; Sunday is a working day in Bahrain but not in Calicut, and Saturday is the reverse, so calls and launches go on the shared days, and anything decided on a call is confirmed the same day in writing.
