We make corporate films and reels as part of our video production work in Calicut, so read this as a working list from our own shoots rather than a neutral survey. Where an idea has an example, it comes from a project on our site: 3D product films for Bosq and Evergreen, presenter-led reels and an event film for Skymark Education, Meta ads for VONA School of Design and the walkthroughs on Luxart Builders' website.
Below are 15 ideas, each with a format, a length, where it runs and a one-line brief you can hand to any production team, followed by how to film the three hardest kinds well.
What is a corporate video for in 2026?#
Three jobs, and a good video picks one.
Selling. Buyers now research on video before they call. Google says more than 450 million logged-in users in India had shopping-related searches on YouTube in June 2026, and that shopping-related watch time in India was up more than 55% year on year in April 2026 (Google India blog, 24 September 2026 (opens in a new tab)). A video that answers a buyer's questions does part of the sales call before it happens.
Hiring. Candidates check a company out before they apply, and a short film of the real workplace answers the question a job post can't: what is it like to work there?
Trust. Many Kerala businesses grow on word of mouth, which stops working the moment a buyer can't visit: a family in the Gulf choosing a builder in Calicut, a parent in another district choosing a school, a distributor in another state choosing a supplier. For them, video is the visit. Our guide to real estate video marketing covers how Gulf NRI buyers watch.
One change from the old idea of a corporate film: it's rarely one long video now. As our video production page puts it, most Kerala brands need a hero film a year and a steady stream of reels, cut from the same shoots where possible.
Which 15 corporate video ideas work for Kerala businesses?#
Each idea has one job. The lengths are planning suggestions, not rules.
1. The founder's story#
Format: founder to camera, in a wide and a vertical cut · Length: 60–90 seconds · Runs on: website, LinkedIn, YouTube
Brief: One reason the business exists, told by the person who started it, in the language they think in.
If yours is a family business with a two-generation story, tell the part that matters to a buyer today, not the whole history.
2. The facility tour#
Format: a guided walk-through · Length: 60–120 seconds wide, with a 30-second vertical cut · Runs on: website, YouTube, sales decks
Brief: Follow one order, one product or one customer from the door to the finish.
It suits manufacturers, kitchens, warehouses, hospitals and schools, anywhere the process is the proof.
3. The 3D product film#
Format: a rendered product film, vertical · Length: 20–40 seconds · Runs on: Instagram, product pages, marketplaces
Brief: One product per film, and stop on the parts people pay for.
Our three films for Bosq, an office chair brand from Kozhikode, run 22, 28 and 39 seconds, one chair each. For Evergreen, a furniture maker, we made a 3D film of a black mesh office chair that closes on its line, "the master craftsman forever!" Rendered chairs need no set and no rig, and they hold their shape from every angle.
4. The finished-project walkthrough#
Format: a vertical walkthrough, often with nobody on screen · Length: 30–60 seconds · Runs on: Instagram, a website gallery, WhatsApp
Brief: Walk through the finished space the way a visitor would, room by room.
On the website we built for Luxart Builders, a Calicut home builder, five vertical reels play in a gallery, and some are pure walkthroughs with nobody on screen: a staircase, a window seat, a lounge, a kitchen. Video was part of our scope there, as our team reports.
5. The one-question explainer series#
Format: presenter-led vertical reels · Length: 30–60 seconds each · Runs on: Instagram, YouTube Shorts, Meta ads
Brief: One question per video, written on screen in the first second.
This is the engine behind the Skymark Education reels: destination and course explainers such as "Free education in Austria", at more than 60 video creatives a month for the consultancy, as our team reports.
6. The expert answer with numbers on screen#
Format: a presenter in the real setting · Length: 30–45 seconds · Runs on: Instagram, YouTube Shorts
Brief: Answer one practical question with a number the viewer can use.
One of the reels on Luxart's site has a presenter explain in Malayalam how big a bedroom should be, with the sizes on screen. Doctors, accountants, lawyers and teachers can do the same with the questions they hear every week.
7. The presenter-led offer ad#
Format: one presenter, big captions, vertical · Length: about 30 seconds · Runs on: Meta ads, Instagram
Brief: The offer in the first seconds, then the place, then the proof.
Our Meta ads for VONA School of Design, a new school in Calicut, follow that order: the offer first (course length, the internship and GCC placements), then the address, with the HiLITE and WTC Learning Park logos on screen, because a landmark people know does a lot for a name they don't.
8. The customer story#
Format: an interview, plus footage of the customer's own work or home · Length: 60–90 seconds · Runs on: website, LinkedIn, YouTube
Brief: A real customer, in their own words, on what changed.
Get written consent and keep their words unscripted. Never cast a paid presenter as a customer: ASCI's new guideline on AI in advertising, which takes effect in late December 2026, bars fabricated testimonials outright, and a presenter posing as a customer misleads just as much. Our guide to AI video ads or a real shoot covers where that line sits.
9. The event film, made twice#
Format: a vertical promo before, a wide film after · Length: 20–30 seconds before, 60–120 seconds after · Runs on: Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube
Brief: Fill the room beforehand, then show it to everyone who wasn't there.
For Skymark's Abroad Edu Conclave, we made a vertical promo with the venue and the date, and a landscape film of a conclave itself: rows of students, university banners and talks on stage.
10. The hiring film#
Format: a short documentary in the workplace · Length: 45–90 seconds · Runs on: LinkedIn, a careers page, Instagram
Brief: What a day in the job really looks like, told by the people who do it.
11. The onboarding and training series#
Format: demonstrations at the desk or on the floor · Length: a few minutes per task · Runs on: an internal drive, unlisted YouTube, the team's WhatsApp group
Brief: One task per video, filmed where the task happens.
12. The how-it's-made film#
Format: process close-ups with little or no talking · Length: 30–60 seconds · Runs on: Instagram, YouTube, website
Brief: Show the craft that justifies the price.
For diaspora audiences in the Gulf, provenance is often the whole appeal, and our guide to short-form video formats that sell in the Gulf has hooks for it.
13. The WhatsApp sales explainer#
Format: square or wide, subtitled · Length: 60–90 seconds · Runs on: WhatsApp, website, email
Brief: Answer the three questions every lead asks, so the sales team can send it after the first call.
For a software product, the same explainer can be made from the app's own screens, with no shoot, like the ten examples we made for Xale.
14. The festive film#
Format: a short story film, shot or made with AI · Length: 10–30 seconds · Runs on: Instagram, WhatsApp status, YouTube Shorts
Brief: Put the festival in front and the brand in the background.
Our AI films for a furniture retailer cover Onam, Diwali, Raksha Bandhan and Ganesh Chaturthi, and our AI videos page plays them in full, each labelled AI-made.
15. The milestone film#
Format: archive photos, today's footage and a few voices · Length: 90–120 seconds · Runs on: the event screen, YouTube, LinkedIn
Brief: Mark an anniversary or a new branch by showing how far the business has come, and who came with it.
Which format suits which platform?#
A few platform facts help with planning. LinkedIn's video ad specifications (opens in a new tab) allow ads from 3 seconds to 30 minutes, and its advice for video ads (opens in a new tab) notes that 7–15 second videos saw up to a 300% lift in completion rates in LinkedIn's 2025 data, that attention drops after the first 10 seconds, and that a large portion of members watch with the sound off. On YouTube, square or vertical videos of up to three minutes uploaded since 15 October 2024 count as Shorts (YouTube Help (opens in a new tab)), so a vertical cut of a short explainer can live in the Shorts feed and the main library at once. All three pages were checked on 4 October 2026.
Plan every shoot to deliver vertical, square and wide cuts, subtitled for viewing with the sound off. We deliver every project in all three shapes for exactly this reason: one shoot then feeds every platform above.
How long should a corporate video be?#
As long as its job needs, and no longer than the platform rewards.
- Ads: 15–30 seconds, with the offer up front.
- Feed explainers and walkthroughs: 30–60 seconds.
- Founder and customer stories on a website or YouTube: 60–120 seconds.
- Training videos: a few minutes per task, since nobody is scrolling past them.
Whatever the length, the first three seconds decide whether anyone stays, and many viewers watch with the sound off (LinkedIn says a large portion of its members do), so the story has to work in captions. A Short can now run three minutes, but "can" isn't "should": plan the longer version and pull the short cuts from the same shoot.
How do you film founder, facility and customer stories well?#
These three carry the most trust and go wrong most easily.
Founders. Give them talking points, not a script; a founder reading lines sounds like an advert. Interview them, with someone off camera asking real questions, in the place where they work. Use two angles and a clip-on microphone, and let them speak Malayalam if that's how they explain things best: subtitles can carry the English.
Facilities. Plan a route that follows the work, and film real work at real speed. Put safety gear on everyone in frame, move screens, files and anything with customer data out of shot, and ask staff before they appear. A tidy, honest floor beats a staged one.
Customers. Get written consent first, let them pick the language, and ask about their before and after rather than about you. Film them in their own setting. If children appear, as they often do in school and clinic films, get parental consent and keep their faces out of shot or blurred, as we do in our own case studies.
When do presenter-led videos work?#
When the message matters more than the messenger. Presenters suit explainers, offers, FAQs and anything you need in several languages or at volume. Skymark's reels, at 60+ video creatives a month as our team reports, are built on presenters, and so are VONA's Meta ads.
The model at its most productised is ReelsBuddy, the video production brand Marketlube runs: 50+ presenters in Malayalam, English and Hindi to choose from (its own figure), Sony FX3 and Cinema Line cameras, professional editors, and a fixed public menu: from ₹999 for a shoot-only package and from ₹1,999 for a full video (presenter, script, shoot and edit), ReelsBuddy's own prices (more on the ReelsBuddy case study). It has made 3,000+ videos so far (reported by our team). That scale works because a presenter is a format: the viewer trusts the answer and the proof on screen, not the presenter's own story.
Presenters don't work where a specific person's credibility is the point. A founder's story needs the founder, and a customer story needs the customer. A paid presenter should never pose as a customer, a doctor or an engineer they aren't.
How do you brief a production team?#
A one-page brief saves more time than any shoot-day trick. Cover:
- The job: sell, hire or build trust. Pick one.
- The viewer and the one thing they should do after watching.
- Where it runs, so the team plans the shapes and lengths.
- What must be real on screen: products, people and places, and what could be rendered or generated.
- Proof points, each with its source.
- Languages and subtitles.
- Brand rules: logo files, colours and fonts.
- Consent: who appears, and who signs the releases.
- Approvals: one decision-maker and a date.
- References: two or three videos you like, and why.
A brief like this lets the team write the script and shot list before a camera comes out, which is where most of a film's quality is decided.
Frequently asked questions#
What is a corporate video?#
A video a business makes about itself rather than about a single offer: who it is, how it works, whom it serves or what it's like to work there. Today it's usually a set of short cuts for different platforms rather than one long film.
How long should a corporate video be?#
As a planning guide, 15–30 seconds for ads, 30–60 seconds for feed explainers, and 60–120 seconds for founder or customer stories on a website or YouTube. Put the hook in the first three seconds and make sure it works with the sound off.
What should a company profile video include?#
Who you are, what you do and for whom, proof that you're real (people, premises and work), and one next step. Keep the history to a line unless it explains why customers should trust you.
Should a corporate video be in Malayalam or English?#
Use the language your viewers think in. For customers in Kerala that is often Malayalam with English subtitles; for business buyers, Gulf audiences or national markets, English, or both versions cut from the same shoot.
Can a corporate video be made with AI?#
Parts of it can: festive films, explainers and imagined scenes. Anything that asks viewers to trust what they see, such as your people, premises and customers, should be filmed, and realistic AI footage should be labelled.
Plan one shoot around three jobs#
Pick three ideas from the list for the next six months: one that sells, one that hires and one that proves you're real. Then plan a single shoot that covers all three and the cuts each platform needs. Tell us which three you've picked and we'll come back with a shoot plan, or see how our corporate and brand film team works from brief to final cut.
