Festival film of chenda drummers and celebrations

Overview

A showreel of short films made for different brands: a streetwear portrait, a village story, misty tea hills and chenda drummers at a celebration. Together they show the range of looks our video team produces for social.

The brief

Every brand wants video now, but a reel only works if it feels native to the feed and true to the brand. Clients came to us needing everything from warm human stories to cinematic travel moments and festival films.

The brief across these projects was the same: short, vertical-first films with a strong opening frame, a clear mood and an edit that holds attention to the end.

How we approached it

  1. Story before spec

Each film starts from a single human moment, such as a man at home or a walk through the hills.

  2. Light as the look

Natural light and mist for travel pieces, warm tones for stories at home and portraits.

  3. Kerala as the set

Village homes, tea-covered hills and chenda drummers give the work a strong sense of place.

  4. Cut for the platform

Vertical 9:16 edits for Reels and Shorts, with landscape versions for events and YouTube.

The outcome

A collection of vertical and landscape films spanning fashion, story, travel and culture, which gives a snapshot of the range Marketlube's video team produces.
