The academy

What is Drillshore Academy?

Drillshore Academy trains young people in Kochi for careers in oil and gas. It calls itself a training and recruitment firm, established in March 2017, and its courses run from rig and offshore work to fire and safety: roustabout training and its one-month Offshore Pro Job Training Program, fire and safety watcher courses and a three-month Safety Officer program, trades such as rigging, scaffolding and pipe fitting, and a six-month diploma, in its own words.

Its reels and ads speak to young people who have just finished Plus Two or a degree, and to their families, in Kerala first. Its recruitment side, Drill Shore HRC, which has an office in Abu Dhabi, runs Drillshore's own placement drives.

The brief

What does an oil and gas institute need from its marketing?

Drillshore sells a career, not a certificate. A student who joins wants a job on a rig or a site at the end of it, and a parent wants to believe that before paying the fee. Much of that decision is made on Instagram, in Malayalam, before anyone calls the academy.

So our work, as our team reports it, covers the whole road from the first reel to the sales team's call: the videos, from the script to the shoot and the edit; the Meta campaigns for the courses and for Drillshore's own placement drives; the creatives; the strategy behind them; coordination with Drillshore's sales team; and audits along the way. In our founder's words, Drillshore is a “very loyal client”.

The reels

The job, on screen in the first second.

Most reels put their hook on screen in big type within about a second: do you want to work on an offshore rig? Plus Two results out, low marks? Then a presenter talks it through straight to camera, with captions in Malayalam and the English words the industry uses, so a reel still lands with the sound off.

The sets change from reel to reel: armchairs on teal and grey sets, an office with glass walls, a backdrop lit in purple and teal, a shoot outdoors, two people in conversation. Most of the reels cut to the academy's own classroom, the best proof an institute has, and the Drillshore logo stays on screen throughout. They went up on Drillshore's Instagram, @drillshore_academy, which had 15,630 followers on 7 Oct 2026, and that day two of them were running as Meta ads: the offshore programme reel since 22 Sep and the reel on rotation work since 28 Sep, in Meta's public Ad Library.

  • The hook on screen by the first second
  • Captions in Malayalam, with the industry's English words
  • The academy's own classroom in the frame
  • Two running as Meta ads on 7 Oct 2026 (Meta Ad Library)

Meta ads

Half the course enquiries came from one campaign.

We run Drillshore's Meta ads on Facebook and Instagram. Its ad account holds 43 campaigns, launched from March 2026, and six were still running on 4 Oct 2026. Sixteen of them sell the courses. Most ask for a lead form, a short form filled in inside Facebook or Instagram, and one asks for a chat on WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram instead.

In Meta's count, the course campaigns brought in 5,761 lead-form enquiries. Counting the spend on the 12 campaigns that produced them, each cost ₹47. The chat campaign for the safety courses started 1,721 conversations, a separate result, at ₹23 each. In all, the account's 43 campaigns cost ₹3.71 lakh in media to 4 Oct 2026: ₹3.14 lakh on the courses and ₹57,052 on the placement drives below.

Half of those enquiries came from one campaign: a rig-training campaign launched on 19 March 2026 and still running in October brought in 2,877, at ₹33 each. Across the courses, on the same basis, an enquiry from the rig, offshore and oil and gas campaigns cost ₹39, and one from the fire and safety campaigns ₹92.

  • 5,761 course enquiries through lead forms, at ₹47 each on the campaigns that brought them in
  • One rig-training campaign: 2,877 enquiries at ₹33 each, from March to October 2026
  • 1,721 chats started for the safety courses, at ₹23 each

Placement drives

Filling Drillshore's own placement drives.

Drillshore also recruits, and the other 27 campaigns are its own placement drives: hiring for roles from rig jobs and safety officers to electricians, drivers and office staff. They use the same lead forms, plus chats and one campaign that asked for phone calls.

In Meta's count they brought in 9,602 lead-form applications, at ₹5.67 each on the 23 campaigns that produced them, plus 238 chats and 21 calls. More than half the applications came from drives for jobs in Abu Dhabi, and one Abu Dhabi oil rig drive, launched in June 2026, brought in 1,861 at ₹3.12 each. An application is a job seeker's form, not a placement: Drillshore's team takes it from there.

  • More than half for jobs in Abu Dhabi

Strategy and sales

Who to reach, and what happens after the form.

Around the reels and the ads sits the work our team reports and no ad account shows: the strategy behind what each campaign sells and to whom, coordination with Drillshore's sales team on the enquiries the ads bring in, and audits.

The campaign names show the strategy at work. The courses go to students who have just finished Plus Two or a degree, with separate audiences for South Kerala and the whole state. One Abu Dhabi drive went to job seekers in Tamil Nadu. And on 5 May 2026 five course campaigns went live together, each on a different angle, from rotation leave to Plus Two marks, to find the one that worked; the rotation-leave campaign was still running in October.

  • What each campaign sells, and to whom
  • Sales coordination on the enquiries
  • Audits
  • All three as reported by our team

For the next institute

What we'd tell another training institute.

Put the job in the first second. Families buy a course for the career at the end of it, so open on that career, in the language they speak at home, and show the classroom where it starts.

Then keep what works running. One rig campaign brought in half the course enquiries over six months while new angles were tested beside it. Keep course ads and recruitment ads apart: a job seeker's form costs a fraction of a student's enquiry, and mixing them hides both. And a cheap enquiry is only worth the call that follows it, so make sure the sales team hears about every one the same day.

  • Open on the job, in the family's language
  • Show the real classroom
  • Let the campaign that works keep running
  • Keep course and recruitment ads apart
  • Call every enquiry the same day

The ad figures are Meta's own counts in Drillshore Academy's Meta Ads Manager on 4 Oct 2026: the account's 43 campaigns, dated in their names from March 2026, and the export of their results, whose report runs from 20 Nov 2024 to 4 Oct 2026.

An enquiry or an application is a form filled in inside Facebook or Instagram, not an admission and not a placement, and a cost per enquiry or per application counts only the spend on the campaigns that brought one in. Chats started on WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram, and phone calls, are separate results, never added to the forms. Reach is Meta's estimate. Every cost here is Meta's media spend: our fees are not in it, and we don't publish them. Which campaigns sell courses and which fill placement drives comes from their names. The scope of our work, from the scripts to the audits, is as reported by our team. The follower and Ad Library counts are public reads of 7 Oct 2026, and they are Drillshore's numbers, not results we claim. The placement, salary and course claims in Drillshore's own reels and profile are its own, and we don't publish its admissions or placements.
