Zealous Learning: Malayalam reels and a Meta ads hook test for a tuition brand

Zealous Learning gives one-to-one tuition to students in classes 5 to 12, at three centres in Kozhikode (Calicut) district and online for families in Kerala and the Gulf.
We make its reels and creatives and run its Meta ads, as our team reports. On 5 Sep 2026 three hook videos went live for its centres on almost the same budget, and by 4 Oct they had brought 227, 198 and 38 enquiries, at ₹36.74, ₹42.65 and ₹215.23 each (Meta's count). Our team reports scaling the winner up afterwards.

The client

Who is Zealous Learning?

Zealous Learning gives one-to-one tuition to students in classes 5 to 12, “5th to Plus Two” as its posts put it. Its website lists Maths, Science, English and Social Studies up to class 10, and Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Commerce in classes 11 and 12.

It teaches at three centres in Kozhikode district, at Karikkamkulam near Karaparamba, at Mavoor and at Ramanattukara, which opened on 27 Jun 2026, and online for students “in GCC & India”, in its own words. Parents choose the tuition and pay for it, including families in the Gulf, so its reels and ads speak to the parent first.

Our part

What do we do for Zealous Learning?

As our team reports, we run Zealous's marketing: reels and creatives for its Instagram, and the Meta ads that put them in front of parents, including every campaign in its Meta Ads Manager export, which covers 13 Jun 2024 to 4 Oct 2026. The three reels on this page were made by our team.

The ads run as separate lead campaigns: for the three centres, for online tuition in Kerala and for families in the Gulf. Enquiries come in through Meta's own forms and chats inside Facebook and Instagram.

zealouslearning.com is Zealous's own one-page site. We didn't build it, so this page links it but doesn't show it.

  • Reels and creatives, made by our team
  • Lead campaigns for the centres, online Kerala and the Gulf
  • Every campaign in the export, 13 Jun 2024 to 4 Oct 2026, as our team reports

The reels

What do parents hear in the first three seconds?

Each reel opens on a worry every school parent knows, asked in Malayalam with the key words in English, before Zealous is named: “When the report card comes, isn't the mark you expected there?”, “But the marks just didn't go up, did they?” and “Are you the parent of a student in class 5 to Plus Two?” (our translations).

Then comes the offer, in Zealous's own words, with its logo on screen: one-to-one guidance, personal attention, and classes online or at a centre. Big keyword captions carry it for anyone scrolling with the sound off. The three reels went up on Zealous's Instagram on 15, 22 and 24 Aug 2026.

The test

What happens when three openings get the same budget?

A hook is the first few seconds of a video ad, the part that decides whether anyone keeps watching. On 5 Sep 2026 we put three hooks to the test: three lead campaigns for Zealous's centres, named alike except for the video (Hook 1, Hook 2 and Hook 3), each on the same daily budget.

By 4 Oct 2026 each had spent almost the same, ₹8,178.63 to ₹8,445.43. In Meta's count, Hook 1 brought 227 enquiries at ₹36.74 each, Hook 2 brought 198 at ₹42.65 and Hook 3 brought 38 at ₹215.23. For about the same money, the strongest opening brought about six times the enquiries of the weakest.

  • Hook 1: 227 enquiries at ₹36.74 each
  • Hook 2: 198 at ₹42.65
  • Hook 3: 38 at ₹215.23

What it showed

What did the test change?

Hooks 1 and 2 together brought 425 enquiries at ₹39.49 each. Shorter re-runs, launched on 24 Sep and 3 Oct, had added 37 more by 4 Oct, at ₹76.48 an enquiry for Hook 2, ₹86.75 for Hook 1 and ₹159.17 for Hook 3. In all, the six hook campaigns brought 500 of the account's 772 student enquiries (13 Jun 2024 to 4 Oct 2026), 64.8% of them, for 27.3% of the spend on student lead campaigns. The other 22 lead campaigns averaged ₹276.72 an enquiry.

After the test, our team reports, we scaled the winning video up. Those figures aren't in this export, so this page shows none.

  • Hooks 1 and 2: 425 enquiries at ₹39.49 each
  • Six hook campaigns: 500 of 772 student enquiries, for 27.3% of the spend
  • The other 22 lead campaigns: ₹276.72 an enquiry
  • The winner then scaled up, as our team reports

Two audiences

Kerala parents and Gulf parents: what did each cost?

Online tuition ran as two sets of campaigns, one for families in Kerala and one for families in the Gulf. In Meta's count, the five Kerala campaigns brought 124 enquiries at ₹249.63 each, and the six Gulf campaigns 18 at ₹810.37 (one of the six brought none).

Much of the gap is the cost of being seen. Showing the ads 1,000 times cost about ₹125 in Kerala and ₹518 in the Gulf, against about ₹61 for the centres' campaigns. So each audience is judged on its own cost, and a Gulf enquiry is never assumed to be worth more: there's no fee or enrolment data to say so. Chats are a separate result: two WhatsApp campaigns launched on 31 Aug 2026 started 58 conversations at ₹147.63 each.

How to reach parents in the Gulf with Facebook and Instagram ads

The whole account

What did the whole account bring in?

The hook test is one month in a longer run. Zealous's Meta Ads Manager export covers 13 Jun 2024 to 4 Oct 2026, and every campaign in it was ours, as our team reports. In that time its 41 campaigns spent ₹1,20,466 on media, never our fee.

In Meta's count, the account brought 772 student enquiries through lead forms, at ₹134.03 each across its 28 student lead campaigns, and started 138 messaging conversations, a separate result. Its other campaigns, messaging ads and boosted posts, were for chats, clicks and reach, not forms.

One campaign was for Zealous itself: an office-staff hiring drive, launched on 28 Sep 2026, which brought 139 job applications at ₹5.48 each by 4 Oct. They are applications, not enquiries, so they stay out of every student figure on this page.

  • 772 student enquiries at ₹134.03 each
  • 138 messaging conversations, counted apart
  • 139 job applications for Zealous's own staff, at ₹5.48 each

How to turn enquiries into admissions

For the next tuition centre

What would we tell another tuition centre?

Test the opening before you raise the budget. Three videos on the same daily budget showed within a month which one parents answered, and the weakest cost almost six times as much per enquiry as the best.

Speak to the parent, in the language they think in, with the key words on screen for the sound-off scroll. Keep the centres, online Kerala and the Gulf in separate campaigns, and price each on its own. And remember that an enquiry is not an admission: count the demo classes booked and the students who enrol, not just the forms.

  • Test openings on equal budgets, then scale the winner
  • Speak to the parent, in Malayalam, with keyword captions
  • Run and price each audience apart
  • Count demo classes and enrolments, not just forms

Every campaign in it was ours, as our team reports, and so is the scope: marketing, reels, creatives and ads. The hook test ran from 5 Sep 2026 to the export on 4 Oct, while still live; the audience settings aren't in the export. An enquiry is a form filled in inside Facebook or Instagram, not an admission. Chats are a separate result, and the 139 job applications to Zealous's own hiring drive are counted apart from both. A cost per enquiry is a campaign's spend divided by its enquiries, or a group's, counting every campaign in the group, including the two student lead campaigns that brought none; group figures, shares and costs per 1,000 impressions are our sums. The scale-up after the test is our team's report, and its figures aren't in this export. No admission, enrolment or fee figure exists, and none is estimated. Zealous's own claims in its posts and on its site aren't repeated here.
