Mukhappu Homes Builder website design for Calicut, a concept build
Mukhappu Homes is a fictional villa and apartment builder in Calicut, and this is the homepage we built for it, aimed at families buying a home or building on their own plot, many of them working in the Gulf. There is no Mukhappu Homes, but every tool on its page can be tried: project cards with build stages, floor plans drawn to scale, a ten-part build sheet, a plot cost estimator and an EMI guide.
A concept build: Mukhappu Homes is a fictional brand we created to show how we design and build a builder website for Calicut. It is not a client and not a real company; our client work is on the work page.
The complete homepage, live
Both frames run the real site. Scroll inside them, try the project filter by stage and type, or open it in a new tab.
How we designed a builder website for Calicut
Laterite, teak and lime
Laterite red, teak brown and lime white are the materials a Calicut house is made of, and they fill the page as broad flat panels. Headlines are in Fraunces, a warm serif, and the body is in Anek Malayalam, which carries both Latin and Malayalam letters, so the Malayalam lines sit in the same type as the English.
Every project shows its stage
A buyer looking at a project under construction wants to know how far it has got. Each card shows the starting price, the current stage as a progress bar and the handover date, and a filter splits ongoing from completed and villas from apartments. Real builders show RERA and occupancy certificate numbers, so the demo has clearly marked slots for them instead of invented numbers.
Plans before the brochure
The floor plans are drawn to scale in the browser, with tabs for each plan and room sizes that switch between feet and metres. A room list beside each plan gives every room's size and the built-up area, so a family can compare homes room by room without downloading anything.
For families working in the Gulf
Many families building in Kozhikode district work in Dubai, Doha or Riyadh and visit once or twice a year. The NRI section is built around a weekly site note, Gulf-time call hours and payment by stage, and the site visit form has a box for a video call instead. The plot cost estimator splits the total into eight payment stages in lakh and crore, the way the payments are actually made.

Questions
What should a builder website in Calicut include?
Ongoing and completed projects with their location, current stage and handover date, floor plans with room sizes, and a full list of the materials that go into each home. Registration details such as the RERA number belong on each project, where buyers look for them. Finish with a short site visit form, with the open Saturdays to pick from.
How should a Kerala builder's website serve NRI buyers in the Gulf?
Show how they can follow the build from abroad: stage photographs, video walkthroughs, call times in Gulf hours and payments tied to finished stages. Explain plainly how paperwork such as a power of attorney and payments from an NRE or NRO account are handled. The enquiry form should take a phone number with a country code and ask whether they would like a video call.
How much Malayalam should a Calicut builder's website use?
Enough to sound local without splitting the detail. Plans, specifications and loan papers are usually read in English, so they can stay in English, while Malayalam works well in headings, the site visit invitation and short lines an older relative might read aloud. A typeface that carries both scripts keeps the two looking like one design.
