Websites for gyms and fitness clubs
Your timetable, doing the selling. Gym website design for fitness clubs in the Gulf and Kerala
Marketlube designs and builds websites for gyms, strength clubs and fitness centres in Kuwait, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, the rest of the Gulf and Kerala, from our team in Calicut, with no office in the Gulf. The site puts your class week first, with places left, then books the free trial, explains each membership plan and gives a ladies' floor its own pages. We have not built a website for a gym client yet, so the sample here is a concept build: Shadd Athletic Club, a working site for a fictional club in Salmiya.

Shadd Athletic Club, a concept build
What a gym's website is for.
Someone choosing a gym asks three things before they ask anything else: is there a class that fits my week, what does it cost, and can I try it first. When a club's website answers none of them, the timetable is a photo of a printed sheet posted on Instagram, the prices are "call us" and the trial is a phone number that rings at the front desk while it is busy signing people in. So the questions go to WhatsApp, one at a time, and the people who would rather not ask go to the club down the road.
A gym website we build answers all three before anyone has to pick up the phone. The week sits high on the homepage, filtered by floor, class and level, with the places left on each class. The membership page lists every plan with what it includes, the freeze rules and the joining documents. The trial takes four short steps on a phone, and it lands with your team on WhatsApp and email with the class already chosen. Women deciding whether to join get a ladies' floor section that answers the privacy questions they would otherwise have to ask a stranger.
You can try this on our Shadd Athletic Club concept build, a gym website for a fictional Salmiya club, with a filterable timetable, a Ramadan switch and a membership builder in Kuwaiti dinar. It is a sample we built to show the work; it is not a client and not a result.
What the site answers before the front desk has to.
A timetable that is true on the day
People pick a gym by whether a class fits their week, so the timetable has to be easy to read on a phone and true on the day.
What we build: A filterable class timetable with places left.
What you get (4)Show less
- Filters for floor, class type, coach, level and time of day, with a count of what is showing
- A day picker on phones that opens on today, instead of a seven-column grid squeezed onto a small screen
- Places left on each class, from your booking system's feed or from a sheet your front desk updates
- One schedule in the CMS that feeds the timetable, the class pages and each coach's page, so a change is made once
The first visit is the sale
A trial or day pass has to be simple to book without a phone call.
What we build: Trial and day-pass booking that reaches your team on WhatsApp.
What you get (4)Show less
- A four-step form: choose the floor, then the day, then a class from the real timetable, then leave a name and mobile
- The booking sent to the front desk by email and opened as a WhatsApp chat with the class details filled in
- A short pre-exercise questionnaire your coaches write and review, with only the questions they need
- Each booking tagged with where it came from (Google, Instagram, a referral) so you can see which channel brings members
Plans and prices members can compare
Members want to compare plans before they visit, and "call for prices" sends them to a club that publishes its own.
What we build: A membership page with a plan builder.
What you get (4)Show less
- Every plan side by side: term, floor, classes included, personal training sessions, freeze days and the joining fee
- A builder that totals the plan in your currency, with Kuwaiti, Bahraini and Omani amounts to three decimals as ISO 4217 sets them
- Tax shown the way your market needs it, for example VAT-inclusive prices for consumers in the UAE
- The documents to bring on joining day and the cancellation and freeze rules, written plainly

A ladies' floor women can judge before visiting
A women-only floor or women-only hours is a reason to join only if women can see, before visiting, how private it is.
What we build: A ladies' floor section with its own pages and contact.
What you get (4)Show less
- Its own page on the entrance, hours, women coaches, changing rooms and whether anyone can see in
- One colour for the ladies' floor across the timetable, the floor cards and the booking form
- A separate contact that reaches the ladies' team, and a way to book a walk-round before joining
- Photographs taken from behind or shot with written consent, with no faces from the floor used without it
Ramadan, Eid and holiday hours that stay right
Gym hours change for Ramadan, Eid, Onam and public holidays, and a stale timetable or a wrong "open now" on Google costs visits.
What we build: A seasonal timetable switch and hours that Google can read.
What you get (4)Show less
- A Ramadan week prepared in advance and turned on with one switch, with the hours before iftar and after it per floor
- Opening hours in ExerciseGym structured data, with specialOpeningHoursSpecification for the dates that differ
- A dated reminder to enter the same dates as special hours in your Google Business Profile, where they show only on the days you set and leave your regular hours unchanged
- Holiday notices that switch themselves off when the dates pass
Source: Google Business Profile Help, How to set special hours, read 28 Oct 2026
Renewals that collect themselves
Monthly memberships are easier to keep when renewals collect themselves, but the payment rails differ by country.
What we build: Online joining and renewals on your own gateway.
What you get (4)Show less
- In India, card and UPI e-mandates for monthly plans: the RBI lets recurring payments of up to ₹15,000 each go through without a fresh one-time password
- In Kuwait, KNET for one-off payments through its required redirect page, with cards for automatic renewals, because PayTabs says KNET does not allow recurring transactions
- Payment links the front desk can send on WhatsApp for renewals and personal training packs
- Receipts by email and a renewal reminder before each plan ends
Source: Reserve Bank of India, Processing of e-mandates for recurring transactions (16 June 2022), read 28 Oct 2026
Personal training, sold coach by coach
Personal training is sold coach by coach, so the site has to introduce each coach and make asking for one easy.
What we build: Coach profiles tied to their classes, and a personal training enquiry.
What you get (3)Show less
- A page per coach with the qualifications they hold, each with the body that issued it, and the classes they lead pulled from the timetable
- A personal training form that asks the goal and the floor, and routes to the right coach's team
- Women coaches marked for the ladies' floor, so a member can book a woman coach without asking
Every branch found by people nearby
A gym is chosen close to home or work, so each branch has to be found on Google Search and Maps by people nearby.
What we build: Branch pages built for local search.
What you get (3)Show less
- A page per branch with the address, the map, parking, floors, hours and the classes held there
- ExerciseGym structured data on each branch page, matched to its Google Business Profile
- Branch-level analytics, with trial bookings counted as conversions in GA4

Try the timetable on Shadd, our concept build.
Shadd Athletic Club is a concept build: a working homepage we designed and built for a fictional brand, so you can try the layout and its tools on your phone before we build yours. It is not a client. See every concept build.

Shadd Athletic Club
Shadd Athletic Club is an imaginary strength and fitness club in Salmiya, Kuwait, with a men's floor, a separate ladies' floor and kids classes. Its coaches, classes and prices exist only in the demo, yet the homepage behaves the way a club's own site should: the weekly timetable filters, the Ramadan switch swaps the whole week, a trial hold takes a place off the count and the membership builder totals a plan in Kuwaiti dinar.
Every page a member checks before joining.
- HomeThe week's timetable high on the page, the two or three plans most people choose, the trial button and the branch or branches, in that order.
- TimetableThe full week with filters and places left, the Ramadan week behind a switch, and a printable version for the noticeboard.
- ClassesOne page per class type: what happens in the hour, the level it suits, what to wear and bring, and when it runs.
- Membership and pricesEvery plan with what it includes, the plan builder, the joining fee, freeze and cancellation rules and the documents to bring.
- Free trial and day passThe four-step booking, what to expect on the first visit and the pre-exercise questionnaire.
- Ladies' floorEntrance, hours, women coaches, changing rooms and privacy, its own contact and a walk-round booking.
- Personal trainingHow sessions work, the packs on offer, the coaches who take clients and the enquiry form.
- CoachesEach coach's qualifications and issuing bodies, their classes and how to book them.
- Kids and familyAge groups, class times, who supervises, the parent consent form and the pick-up arrangements.
- BranchesA page per location with the map, parking, floors, equipment, hours and the classes held there.
- Corporate membershipsPlans for companies, how staff sign up and an enquiry form for HR teams.
- Club rules and FAQHouse rules, the health note, guest passes, lockers and the questions the front desk answers every day.
What changes from Kuwait to Kerala.
Kuwait
Payments decide the build here. Tap's developer docs say KNET accepts Kuwaiti dinar only and that the shopper must be redirected to the KNET page to pay, and PayTabs says KNET allows no recurring transactions, so a monthly plan that renews itself runs on cards while KNET takes joining fees and packs. The dinar runs to three decimal places (ISO 4217), so a plan builder written for two decimals would drop the last digit of every price. Kuwait has no VAT in force (PwC), so for now plan prices carry no VAT line. Our Shadd Athletic Club concept build shows a Kuwaiti club's timetable, ladies' floor and Ramadan week working together.

United Arab Emirates
Habib Al Mulla reads Article 38 of the VAT law with its Executive Regulation as requiring prices for taxable supplies to be advertised VAT-inclusive, with a penalty of AED 5,000 per violation, so membership plans and personal training packs on the site show the VAT-inclusive figure. Pinsent Masons reports that under Cabinet Decision No. 66 of 2023, information on e-commerce websites must be in Arabic, with other languages allowed alongside, so a club that sells memberships online plans its Arabic pages from the start. Confirm both with your tax and legal advisers.

Saudi Arabia
The E-Commerce Law applies to anyone providing goods or services through an electronic store in the Kingdom, and CMS says service providers must disclose the total price including all fees and taxes. VAT has been 15% since 1 July 2020 (PwC). So a Saudi club's online joining shows one final figure per plan, joining fee and VAT included, before the member pays.

Qatar and Bahrain
Kids classes need care with forms. DLA Piper's summary of Qatar's data protection law says websites relating to children should post a notice on how children's data is used and get the express approval of a parent or guardian before processing it, so our kids booking is made by the parent, with that notice beside it. In Bahrain, as in Kuwait, the dinar has three decimal places under ISO 4217, so the plan builder and receipts are set up for it, and the gateway is confirmed before the builder is designed.

Kerala and the rest of India
Since 22 September 2025, gym services carry 5% GST without input tax credit, and the CBIC has said that rate is mandatory, replacing the earlier 18% with credit, according to Business Today's report. Monthly plans can renew on card or UPI e-mandates, with payments of up to ₹15,000 each going through without a fresh authentication under the RBI's 2022 circular. If your members read Malayalam, the class pages can carry it alongside English, quoted as its own line.

What the build includes
- Design and build of the timetable, with filters, places left and the phone day view
- Trial and day-pass booking sent to your team by email and WhatsApp
- Membership page with the plan builder in your currency
- Ladies' floor, coach, class and branch pages from the site map in your quote
- A Ramadan or holiday timetable switch with the hours in ExerciseGym structured data
- One payment gateway connected for joining fees and packs, tested in its test mode
- A CMS your front desk uses to edit classes, coaches, prices and notices
- Consent banner, privacy page and GA4 with trial bookings counted as conversions
- A handover session for the front desk on changing the timetable
Not included
- Gym management, access control or turnstile software, and its licences (we connect to it where it has an API, as a quoted line)

- Running Meta or Google ads for memberships, which is a separate service
Five steps. No surprises.
Every stage has an owner, a deliverable and a sign-off, all agreed with you before it starts.
Book a discovery callYour week and your plans
We start with a call in your hours and ask for the current timetable, the floors, the coaches, the plans and what the front desk is asked most. That tells us what the homepage has to answer and where the timetable data will come from.
Site map, payments and the quote
You get the page list, the payment route for joining and renewals in your country, the Arabic or Malayalam plan and the dates, in one written quote. If you have a booking system, we check its feed before we promise places left.
The timetable designed first
We design the timetable on a phone before anything else, then the membership page and the trial booking around it. Your front desk tries the timetable design with this week's real classes, because they will be the ones answering for it.
Build and test a booking
We build the site, load your real classes and plans, and book trials end to end on a test phone, with the gateway in test mode. Structured data, the Google Business Profile hours and the consent banner are checked before launch.
Launch before the busy weeks
We set the launch date ahead of the month you tell us brings the most new members, so the site is settled before the rush, and train the front desk to swap in the Ramadan week and change a class. After launch, the care plan covers updates, backups and fixes, and the seasonal timetables are loaded before each switch.

What should a gym put first on its homepage?
The class timetable, with times, coaches, levels and places left, the plans most people choose with what each includes, a button to book a free trial or day pass, and where the club is with its hours and parking. Put the timetable high on the page, because whether a class fits someone's week is usually the first thing they check.
Should a gym publish its plans and joining fee, or say "call for prices"?
In most cases, publish them. People compare plans before they visit, and a page that lists the term, what is included, the joining fee and the freeze and cancellation rules answers the questions the front desk would otherwise take one by one. In the UAE, advertised prices for taxable supplies must include VAT, and in Saudi Arabia an online service provider must show the total price including all fees and taxes.
How do I show Ramadan or holiday hours on a gym website and on Google?
Prepare the Ramadan timetable in advance and switch it on for the month, with the hours before iftar and after it for each floor. Add the changed dates to the site's structured data with specialOpeningHoursSpecification, and set them as special hours in your Google Business Profile. Google says special hours are for temporary changes such as holidays and special events, leave your regular hours unchanged, and show only on the days you set.
Can members pay a monthly gym membership automatically?
In India, yes, through card or UPI e-mandates: under the RBI's June 2022 circular, recurring payments of up to ₹15,000 each can go through without a fresh authentication, and larger ones need one. In Kuwait, PayTabs says KNET does not allow recurring transactions, so automatic renewals run on credit or debit cards through the gateway and KNET handles one-off payments. Check what your own gateway supports before choosing the plans you sell online.
Is GST on gym memberships in India 5% or 18%?
Since 22 September 2025, gym services carry 5% GST without input tax credit. Business Today reported the CBIC saying that rate is mandatory and that charging 18% with credit is no longer permitted. This is a summary, not tax advice, so confirm how it applies to your plans and packs with your accountant.
How should a gym website handle kids classes?
Give them their own page with the age groups, times, who supervises and the pick-up arrangements, and have a parent make the booking. In Qatar, DLA Piper's summary of the data protection law says websites relating to children should explain how children's data is used and get a parent's or guardian's express approval before processing it, which is a sound way to build the form anywhere.
Does a UAE gym that sells memberships online need Arabic pages?
Often, yes. In the UAE, Pinsent Masons reports that the consumer protection rules require information on e-commerce websites to be in Arabic, with other languages allowed alongside, so a club selling memberships online should plan for it. Elsewhere in the Gulf, Arabic matters to many members even where the site is mainly in English. This is not legal advice; confirm what applies to your club with your adviser.
