Disclosure: we sell this. Marketlube runs marketing for colleges and universities in Kerala, from programme pages and search to Meta and Google ads and the follow-up. We haven't published a college case study yet, so this guide rests on public rules, official admission notices and our own read of what Kerala students search, each one dated.

A college sells one decision, made by a student and a parent together, in the few weeks after the results. If you are asking how to increase admissions in your college, most of the answer lies in the months before those weeks: knowing which courses students are searching for, having a page that answers every question about each programme, being ready on results day, and making only the claims you can prove.

Which college admissions are Kerala students searching for?#

Our Google Trends read, re-run on 8 October 2026, shows where the demand is moving. Because Trends publishes no counts, we asked for every term alongside "psc coaching", a common Kerala search, and report each one as searches per 100 for it: nursing admission's 160 means 1.6 searches for every one for "psc coaching" in January to October 2025. Each change sets those months against January to October 2022, so the admission season can't flatter one year. The read ends at October 2025 deliberately; late that month, Trends' figures for unrelated searches across India leapt several times over in the same weeks, which points to a change in its sampling, not in demand.

Source: our read of Google Trends on 8 October 2026 (weekly Kerala series from October 2021 to October 2025; ranks among India's states and union territories from India-wide requests for one term at a time). "Flat" means a change of 2% or less. "b.ed admission" had data in only 100 of 214 weeks.

Nursing is the largest admission search we measured, it grew while the others held or fell, and no other state or union territory searches for it more as a share of its searches. Engineering admission held level. Degree, MBA and B.Ed admission searches fell, degree and B.Ed sharply, so an arts and science or management college can't wait for students to come looking; it has to be on their list before they start. Trends shows direction and relative size, not how many students search, and the anchor itself, "psc coaching", fell over the same years.

What should a student find on each programme's page?#

Everything they need to put your college on their option list without having to call you. Each programme's page should answer five questions in plain text, not in a PDF:

  • Can I get in? Eligibility, the subjects and marks it needs, and the admission routes: the university's allotment, management quota, NRI seats.
  • What will it cost? The fee, or a range, with hostel and other fees beside it.
  • Who approves it? The affiliating university and every approval, named exactly as the approval letter states it.
  • How do I apply, and by when? This year's dates, the codes a student must enter for your college and course, and a named person to call.
  • Where does it lead? Careers and further study, with placement figures only as the rules below allow.

Two public documents show why this matters. UGC's guidelines on public self-disclosure (opens in a new tab) say every higher education institution shall keep a functional website, open without a login and with a search facility, and they list a prospectus "including fee structure for various programs", the admission process and the fee refund policy among what it may publish. And the LBS Centre's list of colleges for nursing and allied health (opens in a new tab), updated on 8 October 2026, shows how an allotment works: every college has a three-letter code, and NRI seats have codes of their own. A student filling in options late at night shouldn't have to phone you for a code.

What students search before they shortlist shows up in the results for college lists: guides by Clarix Education, a college-guidance brand we market, reached #2 on Google for "best bca colleges in kerala" (our screenshot from Kerala, 2 October 2026). Our SEO guide for colleges and schools explains how those guides were built and sets out the page grid a college needs. Building these pages is our web development work for education clients.

How should results-day campaigns work?#

Start from the calendar, because the window is short. In 2026 the Plus Two results came out on 26 May, when Kerala's Public Relations Department posted the results link (opens in a new tab), and the University of Calicut's undergraduate registration (opens in a new tab) ran from 2 to 12 June, with the first allotment on 22 June and classes from 1 July. Our education marketing calendar maps the whole season, month by month.

So the work splits into three:

  • Before the results, January to May: build the audience. Programme videos, a guide to choosing between your courses, early lead campaigns while attention is cheaper (the calendar has the months), and the results-day ads, pages and WhatsApp templates written and approved. Xale, the CRM built by the team behind Marketlube, lets a team create those templates inside the CRM and shows Meta's approval status as it changes, as Xale's WhatsApp page for education teams (opens in a new tab) describes.
  • From results day: the full enquiry push. Campaigns by programme and place on Meta and Google, each pointing to its programme page, with help on the university's online registration as the reason to call. Our 90-day admission plan explains why that help can be a college's strongest offer. Reminders carry the real closing date, never a made-up deadline.
  • After the first allotments: the long tail. Management-quota seats and later rounds keep filling well after the main rush. Calicut's revised 2026 schedule allowed management-quota admissions from 6 July to its closing date for admission, 11 September.

Many applicants are under 18, so let the form ask who is filling it in and take a parent's number for a minor; our DPDP checklist covers the consent rules and their dates. And every enquiry needs a reply the same day: our guide to converting enquiries into admissions has the routine. For the software, Xale's guide to admission CRMs for colleges and universities (opens in a new tab) compares the options; Xale is the CRM built by the team behind Marketlube, so we are not neutral about that guide.

How should a nursing or paramedical college market itself?#

As its own season. Nursing is the biggest admission search we measured, but it doesn't follow the university clock. In 2026 the Directorate of Medical Education's notification of 9 June (opens in a new tab) invited applications for BSc Nursing and the allied health degrees through the LBS Centre from 11 June to 2 July, and LBS's tentative schedule of 1 October (opens in a new tab) still has allotments running: a sixth round for allied health courses on 10 October, a seventh for nursing on 13 October, an eighth for nursing NRI seats on 14 October and a spot round for SC and ST nursing seats on 16 October. A campaign that stops in June misses every one of those rounds.

The names and the approvals need the same care:

  • Course names changed mid-season. A state order of 7 July 2026, G.O.(Ms) No. 165/2026/H&FWD (opens in a new tab), modified the 2026-27 prospectus to change the names, durations and eligibility of 11 allied health courses offered by the Kerala University of Health Sciences, to match the guidelines of the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions. The prospectus now lists, for example, B.MLS (Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science), while LBS's college list of 8 October still heads that table "B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc. MLT)". Use the current name on your page and in your ads, with the older one beside it while students may still search for it.
  • The national nursing regulator is in transition. The National Nursing and Midwifery Commission Act, 2023 was enacted to replace the Indian Nursing Council. A petition heard by the Delhi High Court on 17 August 2026 said the commission still had not been constituted and that the council was still doing its work, and the court directed the respondents, the Union government among them, to decide the matter within two months (the order (opens in a new tab)). Name the body that actually granted each approval, in the words of its approval, and check its website before every season.
  • "Approved by all authorities" names nobody. ASCI's education guidelines require an ad for any qualification that legally needs approval to name the approving authority.

Allied health courses sell a job too: a laboratory, a scan room, an operation theatre. Put that workplace on screen first, the way career-course ads do.

How do NRI-quota seats change the campaign?#

They add a second buyer with a different process. Our Trends read shows how families approach it. India-wide, Kerala ranks second of 25 states and union territories for "nri quota" as a share of its searches, behind Puducherry, and the top related searches are about NEET and medical seats, what the quota means and who is eligible. Inside Kerala, "management quota" is searched more than five times as often as "nri quota" (January to October 2025).

The process is full of documents and deadlines, and it changes. For medical and medical allied courses, a state order of 11 February 2026 (G.O.(Rt) No. 601/2026/H&FWD (opens in a new tab)) changed the rule on the sponsor's visa: it must now be valid until the KEAM application closes. For MBBS and BDS, the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations gave candidates on the medical rank list 14 to 19 August 2026 (opens in a new tab) to upload or correct NRI documents, with "no opportunity to submit supporting documents later under any circumstances", and published its final list (opens in a new tab) of candidates eligible for the NRI quota on 3 September. In nursing, LBS runs a separate allotment round for NRI seats.

So an NRI campaign is a service as much as an ad:

  • A page for NRI seats, saying for each programme who is eligible, which documents the sponsor must provide and by when, and the fee, in plain words.
  • Campaigns to the parent or sponsor, timed to evenings in the Gulf; how to reach them on Meta is in our guide to reaching Gulf NRIs with Facebook and Instagram ads.
  • Reminders keyed to the official windows, months ahead for the documents and days ahead for each allotment.

What may a college claim?#

Only what you can prove, in the form the rules ask for. ASCI's guidelines for educational institutions (opens in a new tab), read on 8 October 2026, set four rules that matter most for college ads:

  • Affiliation, spelled out. A college that holds no recognition of its own from a mandatory authority, but is affiliated with an institution that does, must print that institution's full name and location, at no less than half the type size of the college's own name.
  • Recognition, named and shown. Don't suggest a programme is recognised, approved, accredited or affiliated unless you can show the evidence, and for a qualification that legally needs approval, name the approving body.
  • Rankings, sourced. A rank must carry the full name and date of the publication that released it, and like every result claim it must be from the latest completed academic year.
  • Placements, counted honestly. Only the latest completed academic year counts, with evidence, and a count of students who got jobs needs the size of the whole passing-out class beside it. No "100% placement assistance".

Campus photos and videos must show buildings that exist when the ad runs. For risky claims and safer ways to say them, see the table in our admission marketing plan; the guidelines themselves are three pages long and worth reading in full.

Frequently asked questions#

Can a college advertise its rank or accreditation grade?#

Yes, if it is current and you can prove it. ASCI's guidelines ask for the full name and date of the publication that released a ranking, and for ranking claims to come from the latest completed academic year. For accreditation, give the accrediting body and the grade or status exactly as awarded, with its validity, and take it down when it lapses. UGC's guidelines on public self-disclosure also list accreditation and ranking status among what a higher education institution may publish on its website.

Should a college publish its fees online?#

Yes, at least a fee or a range for each programme. UGC's guidelines on public self-disclosure list a prospectus "including fee structure for various programs" and the fee refund policy among what a higher education institution may publish, on a website open without a login. Families also type fees into their searches, as our SEO guide's autocomplete read showed, so a page without them sends the family back to Google.

Does each programme need its own page?#

Yes. Each programme has its own eligibility, fee, approvals, admission route and careers, and its own searches; one admissions page can't answer them all, and an ad for one programme should land on that programme's page. In LBS's allotment list for nursing and allied health, each college and course carries its own code, and that belongs on the page too.

Is Google or Meta better for college admissions?#

They do different jobs. Meta reaches students and parents before they search, so it carries the months before the results and the campaigns for parents, including parents in the Gulf. Google catches the student who types a programme and a place once the results are out. For nursing and allied health, whose allotments run into October, keep both running longer.

Get on the option list before results day#

Pick the three programmes with the most seats to fill. Give each a page with its eligibility, fee, approvals and codes, plan the awareness for January to May, and have the results-day ads and replies approved before the results land. To have one team run the pages, the ads and the follow-up, see how we market colleges and universities, or tell us about your college. A college that wants to fix the follow-up first can start on Xale's education template (opens in a new tab): a six-stage admissions pipeline and one deal per course choice, as xale.in describes it.

Changelog#

  • 2026-10-12: Two sentences added, each with a link to xale.in: how Xale handles WhatsApp templates and Meta's approval, and Xale's education template as a place to start on the follow-up, both as xale.in describes them. The note beside xale.in's guide to admission CRMs now says we are not neutral about it, where it said to treat that guide as ours.
