Websites for travel and Umrah agencies
Show the plan before the price. Travel agency website design for Umrah and holiday operators
Marketlube designs and builds websites for travel agencies and Umrah operators in Kerala and the Gulf, from Calicut, over WhatsApp and video calls, with no office in the Gulf. The site lists each departure by month and airport, prices it by room sharing, opens it into a day-by-day plan, shows hotel distance honestly, quotes the Saudi health and permit rules with their dates, and takes enquiries on WhatsApp from the son or daughter booking for their parents.

Marhala Travels, a concept build
Families compare agencies on the phone.
A family in Malappuram or Kozhikode arranging Umrah for a mother of sixty-eight rarely books from the first agency it hears of. It forwards three or four WhatsApp posters around the family group, then someone rings each agency and asks the same things: which airport, which month, how many nights in Makkah and how many in Madinah, how far the hotel is, what the fare is for a quad room and what is not included. Many agency sites answer none of it: a Kaaba photograph, a phone number and the word packages, and the questions still arrive by phone.
We build the opposite: a site that publishes each departure with its airport, dates, nights split, hotel distance band and fare per person, then lets the family shortlist three side by side with a total for everyone travelling. The same pattern carries a holiday desk selling Dubai, Malaysia or Kashmir to Kerala families, and a Gulf agency selling Umrah by air to residents of Dubai, Doha or Kuwait City.
An honest note on proof. We have not yet built a website for a real travel agency or Umrah operator, so the sample on this page is a concept build: Marhala Travels, a fictional Malappuram agency whose people, departures and fares we invented to show the pattern. You can open it and use every filter. The health and permit rules it quotes, and the ones below, were read from the official sources on the date shown. None of this is legal, tax or medical advice.
Eight questions a family rings about, answered on the page.
Every departure on show, by month and airport
Families want to see every departure before they ring, sorted by the month they can travel and the airport nearest home.
What we build: A departure finder with filters for month and airport (Calicut, Kochi, Kannur, or Dubai and Sharjah for a Gulf desk), each trip drawn as one card with its dates and fare.
What you get (4)Show less
- Cards showing airport, departure date, total days and the nights in Makkah and Madinah
- A plain line when a filter returns nothing, pointing to the nearest departure instead of an empty grid
- Elders' pace, women's group and last-ten-nights departures tagged so they can be found in one tap
- Departures your staff add, edit and close from the admin as seats fill
A family total, not a fare to multiply
Fares change with room sharing, and the person paying wants the total for the whole family, not a per-person figure to multiply on a calculator.
What we build: A fare chart that switches between quad, triple and double, with steppers for adults and children and a shortlist that sets up to three departures side by side.
What you get (4)Show less
- Per-person fares for each room type, with a sentence explaining who usually chooses it
- A family total that follows the travellers and the room sharing picked
- A side-by-side shortlist of three departures with nights, hotel bands and inclusions
- A fixed note that fares are confirmed in writing at booking, on every card and under the chart
Hotel distance from the Haram, stated honestly
Walking distance from the Haram weighs on an Umrah booking more than almost anything, yet the hotel is often confirmed weeks after the family pays the first instalment.
What we build: Walking-distance bands for each stay (for example up to 400 m, 400 to 900 m, 900 m to 1.5 km), with a slot that fills with the named hotel and its measured route once it is confirmed.
What you get (4)Show less
- A band per city on every departure, instead of the word near
- A field for the confirmed hotel, its walking distance in metres and whether it has a lift to every floor
- Your written rule for a hotel that falls outside the band, shown beside the bands
- No photographs of the Kaaba or the Haram; the stay is drawn as a simple route diagram
A day-by-day plan behind every fare
A fare means little until the family sees what each day holds, from the airport meeting time to the free day before the flight home.
What we build: A day-by-day itinerary for every trip, entered once in the admin and shown as a timeline that switches between plans of different lengths.
What you get (4)Show less
- Day entries for travel, rest, ziyarat, the Makkah to Madinah transfer and free days
- A 12-day and a 15-day plan, or any lengths you run, on the same page
- Holiday itineraries for Dubai, Malaysia or Kashmir built from the same day template
- A printable plan families can forward to relatives
Health and document rules that stay current
Vaccines and documents worry families as much as the fare, and the Saudi rules are published per season, so a page written once goes out of date.
What we build: A documents and health panel where every rule names its official document and the date it was checked, with the agency's own rules labelled as its own.
What you get (4)Show less
- The meningococcal ACYW vaccine rule as Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health states it: a conjugate vaccine within 5 years or a polysaccharide vaccine within 3, at least 10 days before arrival
- The groups who need COVID-19 proof (pilgrims over 65, pregnant women and people with listed chronic conditions), in a line of their own
- A checked-on date beside each rule, and a field to swap in the next season's edition
- Your passport and photo rules marked as the agency's rule, not quoted as the Kingdom's

Answers for elders and women travelling together
Parents travelling slowly and women travelling together ask different questions, and both want to know who will be with them each day.
What we build: A guidance page for elders and for women's groups, beside group leader cards that say what each person does on the trip.
What you get (4)Show less
- The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's own answer that a woman may come to perform Umrah without a mahram, quoted with its date
- A line on Rawdah permits, which the ministry issues through the Nusuk or Tawakkalna app
- Your practices for elders: low floors, wheelchairs at both airports, electric carts where you book them
- Group leader and women's coordinator cards with their roles, photographed or as monograms

Instalments and refund terms in plain view
Families pay in instalments over weeks, and the questions that end a booking are about refunds: a refused visa, a cancelled departure, a hotel that changes.
What we build: A payments and cancellation page with the instalment dates as a stepper, the cancellation charges as a table, and pay links from your gateway for each instalment.
What you get (4)Show less
- Your booking amount and later instalments, with the days before departure each one falls due
- A cancellation table by days before departure, and a line on what happens if you cancel or move a trip
- Pay links or a hosted checkout from the gateway you contract with, so card details never touch the site
- A line telling families that payments go only to the company's account
Enquiries from relatives booking on a phone
Most enquiries arrive on a phone from a forwarded post, often from a son or daughter in the Gulf or Bengaluru booking for parents back home.
What we build: An enquiry form sized for a phone, beside WhatsApp and call buttons, that asks only what the agency needs to reply with a plan.
What you get (4)Show less
- Fields for trip, month, airport, travellers (with those over 65 counted separately) and room sharing
- Click-to-WhatsApp with the chosen departure written into the first message
- A short notice beside the form saying what you collect and why, in English and Malayalam
- No passport scans through an open web form; documents come in at the office or through a secure upload

Marhala Travels
Marhala Travels, an Umrah and family holiday agency in Malappuram, is invented, and so are its group leaders, departures and fares. We built its homepage for families arranging Umrah for their parents: departures filter by month and airport, a shortlist sets three side by side with a family total in rupees, the fare chart follows the room sharing you pick and each trip opens into a day-by-day plan.
Eleven pages a family opens before it pays.
- HomeThe next departure as a boarding-pass card, the departure finder, the two trip types (Umrah and holidays) and one WhatsApp button in reach of the thumb.
- Umrah departuresEvery open departure for the season, filtered by month and airport, with room-sharing fares and the shortlist.
- One page per departureThe trip's dates, flights by airport, nights split, hotel bands or the confirmed hotels, the day-by-day plan, inclusions and the group leader.
- Family holidaysHoliday packages such as Dubai, Malaysia or Kashmir, each with nights, a day-by-day plan, what the fare covers and the school-holiday dates that fill first.
- Included and not includedTwo plain lists, so a family knows what the fare pays for and what it will be asked to pay for later, such as the train between Makkah and Madinah or wheelchair hire.
- Documents and healthVaccines, permits and passport rules, each with its official source and checked-on date, updated when the next season's documents are published.
- Elders and women's groupsShort guidance lines for parents travelling slowly and for women travelling together, with the agency's own practices marked as its own.
- Group leadersWho travels with each group and what they do each day, for the families who stay behind and want to know.
- Payments and cancellationThe instalment schedule, the cancellation table, the visa refusal rule and the accounts payments go to.
- FAQThe questions families ask on the phone, answered once: walking distance, Kerala food, flying from Kannur, travelling without a mahram.
- Enquiry and officeThe enquiry form, WhatsApp and phone, the office address and hours, and a place for your registrations and approvals.
Visas, licences, payments and airports, by market.
Saudi Arabia
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah's FAQ says pilgrims from abroad are linked to operating contracts with Umrah offices in their own country, which it calls the external agent, and that an external agent cannot issue an Umrah visa without a service package of accommodation and transport, so every Umrah departure on the site is sold as a package with its stay and transport named. The 1448 AH season calendar runs visa issuance from 31 May 2026 to 9 March 2027, with the last entry on 23 March 2027 and the last departure on 7 April 2027, so a departure list built for this season stops there. In February 2026 the ministry suspended its contracts with 1,800 of about 5,800 foreign agencies for new visas after a performance review found weak service, so the site keeps a clear place for your registrations and approvals.

The UAE
A Dubai agency selling Umrah by air, holidays or flights to residents answers to Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism, which, according to a setup guide from the Dubai consultancy BusinessDubai.ae reading Regulation No. 6 of 2006, licenses four tourism activities separately: travel and tourism agent, outbound tour operator, inbound tour operator and appointed general agent for airlines; IATA accreditation is optional. The licence that applies goes in the footer. Consumer-facing information, website text included, must be available in Arabic at a minimum under Cabinet Resolution No. 66 of 2023, and advertised prices for taxable supplies must include any VAT due, so a UAE package page shows dirham fares VAT-inclusive (your tax adviser confirms which parts of a package carry VAT).

Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman
An agency in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain or Oman selling Umrah by air or summer holidays to residents serves customers of many nationalities, so we build the site in English and Arabic side by side, with Malayalam added only where the agency serves Keralites. Deposits are where the work differs: KNET in Kuwait sends the payer to its own hosted page and accepts dinars only, NAPS/QPay in Qatar opens as a full redirect, and Benefit in Bahrain asks for a PIN on Benefit's page. We build the return pages for each, so a family's instalment is never lost on the way back to the booking.

Kerala and India
Kerala families fly out of Calicut, Kochi or Kannur, so the airport filter carries the codes on their tickets (CCJ, COK and CNN), and headings and inclusions sit in Malayalam beside the English. On overseas tour programme packages sold in India, the Union Budget 2026-27 cut the tax collected at source from 5% or 20%, depending on the amount, to a flat 2%, in force from 1 April 2026 under section 394 of the Income-tax Act, 2025; the invoice shows it, the payments page says so, and your accountant decides how it applies to each trip. The DPDP Rules' notice and consent duties apply from 13 May 2027 (in January 2026 MeitY sought industry comments on cutting parts of that window to 12 months, so check the date before you rely on it), and a person must be able to read the notice in English or any Eighth Schedule language, Malayalam included, so we write the enquiry form's notice in both now.

Figures are before GST in India and before VAT where it applies in the Gulf. The written quote for a travel site lists the departure and fare set-up your staff will edit, the payment gateway or pay links for instalments, the Malayalam or Arabic version and who writes and checks it, and any feed from your booking or reservation system.
What the build includes
- Departure finder with month and airport filters, editable by your staff
- Fare chart by room sharing, with a family total and a three-trip shortlist
- Day-by-day itinerary template for Umrah and holiday trips
- Hotel distance bands with a slot for the confirmed hotel and its walking route
- Documents and health panel with sources and checked-on dates
- Payments and cancellation page, with pay links from your gateway
- Enquiry form and click-to-WhatsApp carrying the chosen departure
- English with Malayalam or Arabic headings and inclusions, linked with hreflang where there are full language versions
- Speed, search set-up and analytics, with a consent notice for the tags
Not included
- Live flight search or a GDS booking engine (quoted separately where an agency needs one)
- Visa filing, Nusuk bookings or any ministry registration, which stay with your agency
- The gateway's own fees and merchant account, which you contract directly
- Writing your cancellation and refund terms; we publish the terms you and your advisers set
- Photographs of the Kaaba or the Haram; we use your own trip photographs or plain diagrams
Five steps. No surprises.
Every stage has an owner, a deliverable and a sign-off, all agreed with you before it starts.
Book a discovery callStart from your departure sheet
On a video call we go through this season's departure sheet, the airports you fly from, your room types and the questions your staff answer most on the phone. Those questions become the FAQ and the order of the pages.
A plan dated to the season
You get the site map, the fields each departure needs, the languages and who writes them, the gateway and the dates. Fares and hotels are often confirmed late, so the plan says which parts launch with sample entries and which wait for your final figures.
Design with your real trips
We design the departure cards, fare chart and day-by-day timeline with two or three of your actual departures, not lorem ipsum, and send them as links you can open on a phone and forward to a partner.
Build, load and test on phones
We build the admin your staff will use, load the season's departures and documents panel, connect the gateway's pay links in test mode and send real test enquiries through the form and WhatsApp from Android and iPhone.
Launch before bookings open
We go live before families start ringing about the next season (the ministry opened visas for the 1448 AH season on 31 May 2026), show your staff how to add a departure, mark one full and swap in a new edition of the health rules, and on the care plan we check the documents panel with you when the Saudi ministries publish new editions.

What should a travel agency website show for each Umrah departure?
The airport and date, the total days with the nights in Makkah and in Madinah, the hotel for each city or its walking-distance band until it is confirmed, the fare per person for quad, triple and double rooms, what is included and what is not, and who leads the group. Add a day-by-day plan and a direct way to ask on WhatsApp. A family that can see all of that compares agencies on substance rather than on who answered the phone first.
Should an agency publish Umrah fares when airfares keep moving?
Families expect a figure, and a page without one sends them to an agency that shows it. Publish the fare per person for each room type on each departure, with a note that the fare is confirmed in writing at booking because airfares move. If fares are not fixed yet, show the departure with its dates and hotel bands and say when the fare will be added, rather than leaving the card out.
How should an Umrah website describe hotel distance before the hotel is confirmed?
As a band of walking distance for each city, such as up to 400 m or 400 to 900 m, rather than a word like near. Name the hotel and its measured route once it is fixed, and state in writing what the agency will do if the confirmed hotel falls outside the band. Elders and families with small children weigh this above almost anything else on the page.
How often do the health and permit rules on an Umrah website need updating?
At least once a season. Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health publishes its Umrah health requirements as a dated edition (on 28 Oct 2026 the latest was the 1447H, 2026 edition), and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah updates its FAQ on permits through the year. Put a checked-on date beside each rule, link the official document, and review the panel when a new edition appears or the season opens.
Can families pay Umrah instalments through an agency's website?
Yes, through a payment gateway your agency contracts with. A pay link for each instalment often suits an agency better than a full checkout, because the amount depends on the travellers and room sharing agreed on the phone. In the Gulf the link should take local debit cards (KNET in Kuwait, NAPS/QPay in Qatar, Benefit in Bahrain, mada in Saudi Arabia) as well as Visa, Mastercard and Apple Pay. Card details stay on the gateway's own page.
Which parts of an Umrah site should be in Malayalam or Arabic?
For Umrah from Kerala, Malayalam for the parts parents read: headings, inclusions, the documents panel and short guidance lines. The children who book are often comfortable in English, so English can carry the longer text. A Gulf agency serving Arab and South Asian customers usually needs English and Arabic, with the Arabic on its own pages rather than through a translate button.
What decides how long an Umrah and holiday site takes to build?
An agency with a handful of fixed packages can start with a business website of up to eight pages, which takes 4 to 8 weeks. Once the site carries a season of departures your staff edit, one page per trip, a fare chart and Malayalam or Arabic, it is built on a CMS and takes 8 to 14 weeks. What usually sets the date is the departure sheet: fares, flights and hotel bands for the season, and the Malayalam or Arabic lines checked by someone at the agency.
